Catherine O'Callaghan

Catherine joined the firm in 2004 and has gained a broad range of experience in the commercial field. She holds a Diploma from the Law Society of Ireland in Property Tax.

 

She acts for a diverse range of private and corporate clients including Banks, Property Investors, Retailers, Farmers, Local Businesses and the voluntary sector in the sale, purchase, development and financing of residential and commercial properties, licensed premises and farms.

 

She has extensive experience in the sale and purchase of distressed assets either in a restructuring or through formal processes and regularly acts for Banks and Insolvency Practitioners on Liquidations and Receiverships.

 

She has particular expertise in the area of Maritime and Shipping law and she advises Banks in relation to ship finance transactions, drafting marine mortgages and other maritime security and the registration of vessels on the Irish Registry. She also advises Banks on all means of enforcement of maritime security to include arrest of vessels and appointment of Receivers.

 

She prides herself on providing comprehensive commercial and solution- driven advice, paying particular attention to risk analysis and the early identification of issues that are relevant to clients.

 

In 2016 Catherine was appointed Hon. Secretary of the Southern Law Association.
